Bespoke Intervari Kitchens

An Intervari kitchen is drawn for your room, not picked from a catalogue. We design it with you, then make the cabinetry in our own joinery workshop on Shakespeare Industrial Estate in Watford, a short drive from north London.

That means the people who draw your kitchen and the people who build it work under one roof. If a run of units needs to be a few millimetres narrower to suit an old wall, we change it at the bench rather than working around a standard size.

What is included

A bespoke kitchen from us covers the whole job, from the first sketch to the last handle:

  • Home survey. We measure your room properly, check walls, floors and levels, and note where services run.
  • Design drawings. Plans and elevations so you can see the layout, the cabinet sizes and how the room will feel before anything is made.
  • Cabinetry made in our Watford workshop. Doors, carcasses, drawers and any tricky one-off pieces.
  • Worktops. We help you choose a material and arrange templating and fitting.
  • Appliance planning. We design around the appliances you want, so sockets, extraction and clearances are all sorted early.
  • Fitting. Installation of the cabinetry and furniture we have made for you.

Ask us to confirm exactly what falls to us and what falls to your builder or electrician for your particular job.

How it works

1. First meeting. Come to the showroom and workshop in Watford, or we visit you. We talk about how you cook, who uses the room and what you like the look of.

2. Survey and design. We measure the room and produce drawings. You tell us what to change, and we change it.

3. Sign-off. Once you are happy with the layout, materials, finishes and appliances, we agree the final drawings and specification.

4. Making. Your cabinetry is built in our workshop, so we can check the quality as it goes.

5. Installation. Our fitters install the kitchen and tidy up as they go. We work to a set of dates you know about in advance.

6. Aftercare. Doors and drawers can settle in a new room. If something needs adjusting after fitting, call us and we will sort it.

Kitchens for the whole home.

We also make fitted bedroom furniture, bathroom furniture and specialist joinery, so everything can be designed to match.

Frequently asked questions

How long does a bespoke kitchen take?

It depends on the size of the kitchen and how quickly the design is signed off. Design and drawings usually take a few weeks of back and forth, then the cabinetry is made in the workshop, then fitted. Tell us your target date at the first meeting and we will give you a programme with real dates for your job.

Can you work alongside my builder or architect?

Yes. We regularly work with builders, architects and interior designers, and we are used to fitting into a wider renovation or extension. We will agree who does what, and when we need the room ready, so nobody is waiting on anybody else.

Will the finished kitchen look like the drawings?

That is the point of the drawings and the samples. You approve the layout, materials and finishes before we make anything, and because we make it ourselves you can come to the Watford workshop and see the actual pieces during production.

Can I change the design once we have started?

Small changes are usually fine early on. Once cabinetry is being made, changes cost time and money, so we work hard on the drawings first to get everything right. If you do want a change, tell us straight away and we will explain what it means for the price and the dates.

How much mess will there be at home?

Because the cabinetry is built in the workshop, most of the cutting and dust happens in Watford, not in your house. Our fitters protect the areas they work in and clear up at the end of each day.

What if something needs adjusting after fitting?

Ring us on 01923 954769. Doors and drawers sometimes need a small adjustment once the room has settled, and we would rather come and put it right than have you live with it.

How we price a kitchen

Every kitchen we make is different, so we do not have a price list. The cost depends on the size of the room, the materials and finishes you choose, the worktop, the ironmongery and how much specialist joinery is involved.

The way it works is simple. We meet, look at your room and talk about what you want. From that we can give you a realistic idea of the range your kitchen is likely to sit in, before you commit to anything. Once the design is settled you get a written quotation with the specification set out, so you can see what you are paying for.

If a design fee applies to your project, we will explain what it covers and what happens to it if you go ahead, in writing, before you pay anything. Please ask us to confirm the current arrangement.
